Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 25, 2026
SwipeRep, Inc. ("SwipeRep," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use the SwipeRep mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service").
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information — name, email, phone number, role (homeowner or contractor), and password when you create an account.
- Profile information — for contractors: business name, trade, services offered, license & insurance details, photos, and service area. For homeowners: address or general location.
- Job information — descriptions, photos, and category tags for the work you request or post.
- Location data — your approximate or precise location (with permission) to surface nearby pros and jobs.
- Communications — messages you send through in-app chat, and emails or support requests you send us.
- Payment information — handled and stored by our payment processor (Stripe). SwipeRep does not store full card numbers.
- Device & usage data — device type, OS version, IP address, app interactions, crash logs, and performance metrics.
2. How we use information
- To operate the Service — matching, chat, scheduling, payments, notifications.
- To verify contractor identity, licensing, and insurance status.
- To send transactional messages (match alerts, booking confirmations, billing receipts).
- To improve product features, prevent fraud, and respond to support requests.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
3. How we share information
We share information only as needed to run the Service:
- Between matched users — once a homeowner and contractor match, relevant profile information becomes visible to the other party.
- Service providers — payment processing (Stripe), cloud hosting (Supabase), push notifications, analytics, and email/SMS delivery.
- Legal & safety — to comply with valid legal requests, protect rights and safety, or investigate fraud.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Your choices and rights
- Access & update — edit your profile any time in the app.
- Delete your account — Settings → Delete Account. We will remove your account and associated personal data, except where retention is required by law.
- Location & notifications — adjust permissions in your device settings.
- Marketing emails — unsubscribe via the link in any marketing email.
- State-specific rights — residents of California, Virginia, and other states with applicable privacy laws may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or port their data. Contact privacy@swiperep.com to exercise these rights.
5. Data retention
We retain account information for as long as your account is active. After deletion, we may retain limited data needed for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or completed-transaction records.
6. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and secure credential storage. No system is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your data.
7. Children
SwipeRep is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. International users
SwipeRep is operated from the United States. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to the U.S. and its processing under U.S. law.
